The Deck Reinforcing Steel command provides the means to enter longitudinal and transverse reinforcing steel for the deck slabs. The entry of slab reinforcing steel is not restricted to the individual slab segments that were previously entered and they can cover multiple slab segments at once.

Deck reinforcing steel is used by LEAP Bridge Steel for section property calculations as stipulated by the AASHTO LRFD Specification for Strength (Article 6.10.1.1.1c) and Service (Article 6.10.4.2.1). Deck reinforcing steel is also used to verify minimum steel requirements per Article 6.10.1.7.
